Reporting a bug

The game is deterministic: the same career, the same week and the same decisions produce the same match, every time, on every phone. That means a well-described bug can usually be reproduced exactly — but only if the report says where in the career it happened. Please include:

  1. Your device and OS version — for example "Pixel 7, Android 15" or "iPhone 13, iOS 18.4".
  2. The app version, from the store page for Pitch Life.
  3. Your player's full name and club, exactly as the game spells them. Both are generated, so together they identify your career.
  4. The player's age and the season, and which screen you were on: the match, full time, training, the transfer window, a story event, the league table.
  5. What you tapped, what happened, and what you expected. If it was a match decision, name the choice you picked.
  6. A screenshot or a screen recording. For anything visual or anything mid-match, this is worth more than the other five points put together.

If the game crashed, say whether it crashed once or every time, and whether it still crashes after force-quitting and reopening. There is no crash reporting service in the app, so nothing about a crash reaches us unless you tell us.

Careers and save files

Each career is a single JSON file inside the app's own private storage, in a saves folder. The game writes to a temporary file and renames it over the real one, and keeps the previous version alongside as .bak, so a crash in the middle of a save leaves you with the last good career rather than a broken one. Saves are written after every match and after every major decision.

Getting a career off the phone

Settings shows Export career and Import career buttons. In the current build they are placeholders and do nothing when tapped. The code that produces the export exists and is tested, but it is not yet connected to those buttons, so there is currently no way to copy a career out of the game or move one to another phone yourself.

When they are connected, the flow will be: Settings → Export career → the career is handed to your phone's share sheet as a JSON file, which you can save or mail to yourself. Importing takes that same file back and writes it into a career slot. Until then, please do not count on moving a career between devices.

If you lose a career

There is no cloud save and no account, so we hold no copy and cannot restore a career. The two things that protect a career are your phone's backup, and not tapping through the overwrite warning:

Deleting everything

Uninstall the app. That removes the save files and the index with it. Nothing is stored on any server, because the game has no server. If you also want the copy inside your phone's backup gone, clear it from your device's backup settings.

Things that are working as intended

Low energy never stops you playing

Energy limits how hard you can train and it makes you play worse and pick up injuries more easily, but it never locks a match behind a timer. If the Play match button is there, you can play. It always is.

The clubs and players are not real

Every club, league, stadium, teammate and rival is invented by the game and checked against a blocklist of real clubs and real people before it appears. If a generated name still looks like a real club or a real person, that is a bug — please report it and it will be added to the blocklist.

The AI players around you are characters

The rivals in the news and the award races are written by the game. They are not other human players, and the game will never claim they are.

You do not pick the team

You control one footballer. You earn minutes or you sit on the bench, and that is the game rather than a fault in it.

Known limitations in the current build

Feature requests

Welcome, and genuinely read. The most useful ones name the moment that felt flat rather than the feature: "the match after I got dropped read exactly like the one before it" is more actionable than a list.
