Idol Star for iOS and Android

Write to mert@maindtec.de. It is a real person and a small game, so you will get a real answer.

Reporting a bug

The most useful thing you can send is the seed. Every run is reproducible from its seed, so with that number the exact life you were playing can be replayed here and the bug seen directly.

The seed is on the card at the end of a run, and the Copy run button puts it on your clipboard along with a summary. If you have not finished the run, tell us roughly how far you had got and what you had just tapped.

Also helpful: your phone model and OS version, and a screenshot if something looked wrong rather than behaved wrong.

My run disappeared

There is one save at a time. Beginning a new life replaces the one before it, and that cannot be undone from inside the game.

A run can also be declined on purpose after an update. The save works by replaying your choices through the game's writing, so if that writing has changed, the old list of choices would rebuild a different life rather than yours. The game refuses that instead of handing you a stranger. It is the right behaviour and it is still annoying; updates that change the event bank will be flagged in the release notes.

The game will not open, or opens to a black screen

Force-quit and reopen first. If it persists, reinstalling is safe to try but will delete your save — if you can still reach the end-of-run card, copy your seed first. Then write in, with your phone model, and it will get looked at.

Content and age rating

Idol Star is rated 12+. It deals with the real pressures of a trainee system — weigh-ins and diet pressure, dating restrictions, favouritism, exhaustion, scandal — honestly, but never graphically, and no single event is there for shock.

If you think a specific event crosses a line, please say which one. Events have ids and they can be changed or removed in an update. That feedback is genuinely wanted.

Every character, company, group and song in the game is invented. Any resemblance to a real person is not intended, and if something reads as a real person to you, tell us and it will be rewritten.

Refunds

The game has no in-app purchases, so there is nothing to refund from us. If you paid for the app itself, refunds are handled by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com, or by Google through the Play Store — we cannot issue those, but we would like to know what went wrong.

Privacy and data requests

There is no data to request. The app collects nothing and sends nothing; see the privacy policy. Your save is a file on your phone that you can read yourself.
